Newberg Naz is committed to “Connecting Community to Christ”.

At this time we partner with Love INC (In the Name of Christ) to minister to the needy in our community by providing over-the-counter medications as well as weekly and monthly prayer, financial, and volunteer support.  We are seeking relational ministry opportunities this next year and hoping to have more of a presence in this area of this amazing ministry.

We serve with Faith in Action by providing a “Kids Day Out” for families who have children with special needs.  Periodically on a Saturday families have the opportunity to bring their children to Joan Austin Elementary school to participate in fun and interactive activities with volunteers who love on them and spend time with them while their caretakers are able to get away for half the day for their own special free time.  Our church family loves to help in this capacity.

At Christmas we host the Community Christmas Cantata who ministers in several venues around the community.  This wonderful choral cantata receives free-will offerings for YCAP Yamhill County Food Bank and has raised over $110,000 over the years.

Newberg Naz also serves in a variety of other ways in our community to connect people to Christ through service to the elderly, youth, and children.  We believe Christ came to minister to the needy and called us to be “good neighbors”.  “Even as work is essential for life with meaning, so neighboring is essential for meaningful community life.  Becoming a neighbor to less-advantaged people is the most authentic expression of affirmation I know – becoming a real-life, next-door neighbor.”  – Robert D. Lupton.  The relationships that happen often benefit our church family more than those we serve.
